Motorbike rider rescues lost dog stranded on busy road
This is the heartwarming moment a motorbike rider rescued a lost dog that was stranded on a busy road.
Mark Maquiling was checking for road hazards when he spotted the hapless brown Goldendoodle in Manila, the Philippines.
Footage shows the kindhearted motorist, clad in a reflective vest, pulling over to guide the visibly frightened pooch away from the motorway, fearing it could be struck by passing vehicles on September 27.
Other riders can be seen briefly stopping to help, cornering the confused canine to prevent it from darting across the highway.
After searching the area and calling his friends for assistance, Mark decided to place the dog on the footrest of his scooter before safely driving it home.
He later recalled feeding and bathing the lost pup, even introducing it to his two Shih Tzus to help it feel at ease.
Mark said: 'I gently placed the dog on my vehicle because the asphalt was hot at the time. I then brought him home temporarily and posted on social media to try and find his owners.
'The next day, I received a message from someone claiming the dog was theirs, so we agreed to meet with authorities to properly hand the canine over. I will make sure they are the rightful owners and will ask them for proof.'
The owners later said that their pet had wandered off while playing with stray dogs near their home.
