Rainha Santa Isabel Parade in Coimbra Portugal
The ancient university city of Coimbra celebrates the 500th anniversary of the beautification of their patron saint - Rainha Santa Isabel ( the Queen Saint Isobel in English ). An enormously heavy statue of the saint was carried from the Santa Cruz Monastery to Portagem in the centre of the city and a firework display was held as the statue of the saint paused on the bridge.
