Los Angeles, United States - September 30, 2025 09/29/2025 10:20 pm GMT-0700 COMPTON, Calif. – Firefighters and sheriff’s deputies rushed to help a woman in apparent labor late Monday night after she nearly gave birth in the street. Just before 10:30 p.m., Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies and Compton Fire Department crews responded to the 16100 block of South Atlantic Avenue, where they found the woman showing signs of active labor near the roadway, according to neighbors nearby. Emergency personnel assisted the woman at the scene before she was safely transported to a local hospital. Her condition, and whether the birth occurred en route or at the hospital, was not immediately known. No further details were released.
