This is the shocking moment Chinese tourists fought at a barbecue restaurant in Pattaya.

The shirtless holidaymakers sat down for dinner after downing drinks at a nearby pub in the Thai 'Sin City' on Saturday evening.

They were seen tucking into their meals, taking selfies with several fair and slender women sitting next to them, when a drunken fistfight reportedly broke out, sparking panic among diners.

One of the Chinese men reportedly tried to flee the scene as his friends attempted to stop him from drink driving.

Footage shows the man's grey SUV lurching along the road with one door open while several tattooed tourists tried speaking to the driver. Despite their attempts, the man sped away, allegedly ramming a vehicle as he left.

Onlooker Worakan Thaveetheptaikul, 33, said: 'One of the tourists was intoxicated and tried to drive home, but his friends tried to stop him. That's when the argument broke out and turned into a fight like you see in the video.

'I want the police to tighten safety measures because drunk driving by foreigners can put other drivers and the local public in danger.'

In July, Korean tourists sparked chaos in the same food strip when a drunken row escalated into a mass brawl, with diners fleeing as kitchenware flew.

Four individuals were detained and ordered to pay 100,000 baht (2,300 GBP) for damage to the property.

Thailand has been marred by over-tourism as the Thai government implements a visa-free scheme to boost revenue following the barren pandemic years.

Former fishing village Pattaya became popular with American troops on 'rest and relaxation' breaks in the 1950s and 1960s when the US military had bases in Thailand while fighting Communism in Vietnam.

Government chiefs have attempted to clean up the city but regular violence, depravity, and claims of corruption continue to blight its reputation.
