This is the dramatic moment floodwaters from Typhoon Bualoi swept homes into a bridge in Laos.

Footage shows a row of properties being carried away by the rising waters before becoming lodged against the structure in Phuong District, Vientiane Province, on October 1.

A car was also seen crossing just moments before the debris struck the span. Panicked residents quickly evacuated the area. No injuries were reported following the incident.

Typhoon Bualoi weakened into a tropical depression as it moved towards northern Laos on Tuesday.

The storm had struck Vietnam early Monday morning with winds reaching 130 km per hour, leaving at least 26 people dead and 22 missing.

Bualoi had previously caused at least 20 deaths in the Philippines and forced hundreds of thousands of families into evacuation centres.

Thailand's Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation reported that at least seven people were also killed in floods in the country.
