Thieves stealing motorcycle in broad daylight while owner watches on Ring doorbell
Shocking CCTV shows two blatant thieves stealing a motorcycle in broad daylight from a quiet village home.
Justin Morrison, 58, from the village of Lyminge in Kent was working in London on September 11 when he checked his Ring doorbell to see if a package had arrived.
The electrician was shocked to instead see two men making off with his beloved motorcycle at around midday.
Footage from the day shows the thieves, one wearing a high vis jacket, running away while pushing the bike down the road.
The homeowner managed to acquire CCTV from neighbours which shows them walking through the village up until Lyminge Forest - where they break down and discard the jacket in a bush.
Justin says that he had never seen the men before, but that police have advised him that they are likely local due to their comfort in the area.
He said: "I checked my CCTV because I was expecting a parcel to be delivered, and it hadn't. That is when I noticed that my motorbike was gone. It was the one day that I didn't chain it up. "
"It is a very quiet village. I was so surprised. Nothing ever happens in the village. I was livid."
"The way they did this makes me think that they have done it before and maybe they have just never been caught. "
"I managed to get CCTV from many neighbours, but eventually the trail went cold."
Justin bought the bright yellow and black BMW F800 GS back in 2010 for £7,000, and it has since travelled the world with him making it very sentimental.
He later shared a post on Facebook with photos of the culprits, but sadly nobody has been able to identify them.
Justin added: "It has got a lot of history for me, so I am keen to get it back. It is a very distinctive bike. "
"I have maintained it and spent a lot of money on it. Everything was good about it. It was worth more to me for the sentimental value. "
"There were many things that I wanted to do on it so to have that gone now is extremely annoying. I love motorbiking. It is more of a hobby than anything."
Justin says that the police retrieved the high vis jacket discarded by the bike thieves and are currently analysing it.
A Kent Police spokesperson said: "Kent Police was called at 3.05pm on Thursday 11 September 2025 after a motorbike was reported stolen on Palm Tree Way, Lyminge."
"Enquiries are ongoing including forensic examinations. Anyone with information which may assist the investigation should call 01843 222289 referencing 46/159513/25."
