On September 27, by a stream in Yibin, Sichuan, a woman happened to witness a rare and magical scene: a carp leaping over a barrier with a butterfly appearing as if to guide and cheer it on.

The video shows a carp in the stream repeatedly trying to jump over a stone ledge, failing several times in a row. After one fall back into the water, instead of immediately leaping again, it paused beneath the surface as if adjusting its rhythm. At that moment, a butterfly quietly landed on the stone ledge, gently fluttering its wings as though encouraging the fish. The next second, the carp gathered its strength, leapt powerfully toward the butterfly’s direction, successfully cleared the ledge, and swam upstream with a flick of its tail.

The woman who filmed the scene said: “This carp had actually been trying for a long time, it kept persisting. I only noticed it after hearing the sound of its splashes. What amazed me was that when the carp seemed lost after failing so many times, the sudden appearance of a butterfly seemed to help it succeed. Nature is truly incredible.”
