Storyline: Chinese solar panel makers grab global market share with next-gen solutions [Voice_over] With innovative technologies and standout designs, Chinese-made solar panels and grid management systems are capturing an ever-increasing share of the global renewable energy market. This company in Yiwu City, for instance, specializes in back contact solar cells, which place all electrodes on the panel’s rear to maximize sunlight capture on the front. The innovative design significantly boosts photoelectric conversion efficiency, a key advantage that’s been driving the company's rapid European expansion. [Sound_bite] Xu Xinfeng, Senior Vice President, solar panel company: "For example, rooftop panels must have stronger resistance to micro-cracks, hail, and shading. We are entering overseas markets with these differentiated products. In Germany, Spain, Italy, and Poland, we’ve achieved an average annual growth rate of over 50 percent." [Voice_over] Beyond producing solar panels, a manufacturer in the eastern city of Changzhou is also providing AI-driven grid management solutions. A deputy director of the firm says their state-of-the-art system optimizes power distribution, with surplus solar energy being sold back to the grid or diverted to office buildings, ensuring no power goes to waste. [Sound_bite] Yi Jinxin, Deputy Director of New Scenario Solutions Management, solar panel company: "We’ve shifted our focus from simply producing modules and generating power to helping clients and users optimize their electricity consumption. Using our AI algorithms, we can determine optimal solutions in real time, enabling our clients to increase their returns by an additional 5 to 10 percent." [Voice_over] According to the International Energy Agency, China’s share in all the manufacturing stages of solar panels now exceeds 80 percent, more than double the country’s share of global PV demand.
