This is the terrifying moment a tornado triggered by Typhoon Bualoi batters a home amid the storm in Vietnam.

Dramatic footage shows fierce winds ripping through a house and sending debris flying inside a living room in Thai Thuy commune, Hung Yen province, on September 29.

Metal gates were slammed repeatedly, striking motorcycles inside the garage.

Authorities confirmed the tornado killed at least two residents and injured 11 others in the province.

Bualoi has triggered at least eight tornadoes in the country. In Ninh Binh, one of the worst-hit areas, nine people died and 18 were injured. Eleven single-storey houses collapsed, 126 homes were damaged, and 53 utility poles were brought down.

The storm had struck Vietnam early Monday morning with winds reaching 130 km per hour, leaving at least 26 people dead and 22 missing.

Bualoi had previously caused at least 20 deaths in the Philippines and forced hundreds of thousands of families into evacuation centres.

Thailand's Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation reported that at least seven people were also killed in floods in the country.
