Thousands of Oromos gathered at Meskel Square wearing traditional clothes to attend the thanksgiving festival. Irreecha is a traditional thanksgiving festival celebrated by the Oromo people to mark the end of the rainy season and the beginning of the harvest season. It is a cultural and spiritual gathering that expresses gratitude to God for peace, health, and prosperity. Irreecha is the most celebrated cultural festival in Africa.
