JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. — In celebration of World Animal Day, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office shared a heartwarming rescue story featuring one very vocal squirrel.

When a baby squirrel fell at Putter’s Pride Mini Golf, Animal Control Officer Moore quickly responded to help. After waiting for the mother to return with no success, Officer Moore safely transported the tiny “chatterbox” to the Rocky Mountain Wildlife Alliance for specialized care.

The department reported that, despite its loud squeaks, the young squirrel is expected to make a full recovery and have a bright future.
