United States - October 05, 2025 Guardsman Pass, Utah, USA – On October 5, 2025, a snowplow was seen steadily clearing heavy, wet snow from the winding asphalt of Guardsman Pass (SR-190), reopening the 9,717-foot route after its closure the previous day. The Wasatch Mountains received up to 16 inches of snow, blanketing nearby ski resorts, including Park City, under stormy, wet conditions. Dense fog and snow-dusted pine trees added to the challenge along the pass during dim October dusk light. Video shared by the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) shows the yellow snowplow with flashing amber lights working efficiently to make the road safe. Maintenance crews worked through the weekend to ensure travel between Big Cottonwood Canyon and Park City remained secure. UDOT reported no incidents or injuries as the route reopened, advising drivers to exercise caution and enjoy safe travel.
