Israel: Israeli Navy Gains Operational Control Over 42 Vessels Attempting To Breach Gaza Naval Blockade
Israel - October 05, 2025 During Yom Kippur, Israeli Navy forces carried out a 12-hour operation to stop hundreds of sailors attempting to break the legal naval blockade of the Gaza Strip aboard 42 vessels. The operation involved multiple Navy units, including Shayetet 13, Shayetet 3, female combat swimmers from the Snapir unit, and other naval combat units. The crews successfully boarded the vessels and safely transferred the sailors to Ashdod Port for further processing by the Israel Police. The Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir, was present at the Navy headquarters throughout the operation, maintaining constant communication with the Navy commander. After the operation concluded, he praised the commander and personnel for an unprecedented and flawless execution. The Navy operation was led by Commander of the Israeli Navy, Maj. Gen. David Saar Salama, from the heart of the sea. Prior to the mission, he addressed the forces, saying: "The Navy stands before a mission that requires determination and professionalism, to ensure every attempt to breach the security naval blockade is stopped far from our shores. I have full confidence that you will carry out the mission successfully while upholding our values."
