China: Two giant pandas in Beijing zoo meet public on Mid-Autumn Festival

Storyline: Two giant pandas, Ji Nian and Fu Jiang, made their debuts at Beijing Zoo on Monday as China celebrated the Mid-Autumn Festival. Ji Nian, aged six, and Fu Jiang, aged three, both male pandas, were born in southwest China’s Sichuan Province, the hometown of pandas. They have gone through a month-long quarantine to ensure their health and safety before being unveiled to eager visitors celebrating the holiday with a trip to the zoo. To mark the festive occasion, zookeepers prepared special mooncakes for the pandas, adding a sweet touch of celebration to their first public appearance in the capital.
