On October 6, 2025, in Alcala, Cagayan, Philippines, @jhaye.verbo.1 shared a shocking video showing the collapse of the Piggatan Bridge. In the video, several ten-wheeler and trailer trucks are seen crossing the decades-old bridge when it suddenly gives way, sending vehicles plunging down. According to reports, the incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. and was caused by overloaded trucks, each carrying an estimated 50 tons—far exceeding the bridge’s 18-ton capacity. The collapse disrupted travel and drew immediate attention from local authorities and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
