PALESTINIANS RUNNING NEAR TRASH CONTAINER (2 SHOTS)RAMALLAH, WEST BANK, PALESTINE - OCTOBER 7: Israeli forces conducted a large-scale military operation in the central West Bank on Tuesday, Oct. 7, storming several population centers and tightening restrictions around the Ramallah and al-Bireh governorate. According to local sources, the Israeli army moved into the city of Al-Bireh, the Am'ari refugee camp, and the town of Kafr Aqab, deploying forces in several neighborhoods. Military checkpoints were established on multiple streets, obstructing traffic and leading to severe congestion. Witnesses reported that soldiers detained a number of young men and carried out field interrogations. Anadolu Agency's cameras documented scenes of the army detaining and later releasing individuals after on-the-spot questioning. Local sources told Anadolu that the Israeli army converted the Great Omari Mosque in Al-Bireh into a temporary interrogation center for detainees. The operation also included the firing of tear gas canisters towards a gathering of Palestinian civilians in the city, resulting in several cases of suffocation. Those affected received treatment on the spot. According to WAFA news agency, Israeli forces closed the military checkpoint at the entrance to the town of Atara, north of Ramallah, and shut an iron gate at the entrance to the village of Deir Ammar, west of Ramallah, forcing residents to exit their vehicles and proceed on foot.
