Deputy, Dog Team Up to Rescue Missing 86-Year-Old Woman
DESTIN, Fla. — A late-night search for a missing elderly woman in Okaloosa County had a heartwarming hero — her son’s loyal dog, Eeyore.
The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded after a concerned husband reported his 86-year-old wife missing. She had fallen and injured herself while walking Eeyore near their Destin-area home. As deputies searched, the faithful dog guided one of them straight to her location.
Body camera footage captured the emotional moment when the woman was found, with the deputy praising the four-legged rescuer who led the way. “You’re such a good boy! Grandma loves you,” she said.
The sheriff’s office called the rescue a perfect example of love and instinct in action — proof that sometimes, heroes come with four legs and a wagging tail.
