Shocking video captured the moment a man scared off a group of thieves trying to steal his car outside his home.

Stéphane Crombet, 41, was at home when he noticed his car's signal lights turn on so he stepped outside to see what was happening.

Stéphane came face-to-face with two men who were attempting to steal his KIA ProCeed in broad daylight.

CCTV footage shows the two men, their faces covered, working together to open the car's boot and climb inside in an attempt to steal it.

Stéphane confronted the men, who tried to intimidate him, but when he called for his Labrador-Beauceron mix, they fled.

Stéphane, a truck driver from Hainaut, Belgium, said: "It's still shocking to go through something like this. "

"In the moment, I didn't really think. "

"I saw someone trying to steal from me so I went outside."

"When I opened the door, I said 'Is everything okay?' and one of them responded 'Get the f*** out of here' while trying to intimidate me."

"What really made them run was when I called my dog. "

"The whole experience made me realise we're not really safe anywhere anymore."
