PIEDMONT, Okla. — Officers with the Piedmont Police Department made an unusual rescue this week after freeing a young deer that found itself stuck in a fence — only for the fawn’s newfound freedom to take a comical turn.

According to the department, officers responded to a call about a fawn trapped between fence posts. After carefully cutting the animal loose, the startled fawn bolted away at full speed — directly into a nearby bucket.

“Sometimes it takes a second to get your bearings after being stuck,” the department joked in a post sharing the lighthearted moment, complete with video and laughter from officers on scene.

Both the fawn and the officers were unharmed, and the animal was last seen dashing safely back into the wild.
