This was just a regular walk on the beach until a skittering of stones falling heralded the start of a prolonged fall of rock on to the beach below. Due to a summer of mainly dry weather in the South West this was mainly mud, dust and smaller stones but is a sign that the rising sea levels are causing high tides to eat into the foot of these cliffs on a regular basis. This destabilises the upper levels and will lead to larger rock falls as the autumn and winter weather takes hold. Beachgoers are advised to stay well away from the cliffs at all times and parts of the area are marked by emergency fencing.
