Irish Gaza Flotilla Team Celebrated With Emotional Homecoming At Dublin Airport
A video filmed by X user 3nkaboot captures around 100 supporters behind red barriers at Dublin Airport, waving Irish tricolors and Palestinian flags under the bright arrival hall lights.
Banners reading "Welcome Home" and "Free Palestine" were displayed as families and activists carried flowers and water bottles, greeting the returning team with cheers and applause.
Five activists, including Tadhg Hickey, emerged with suitcases, receiving warm embraces, drum beats, and loud cheers while security staff in yellow hi-vis vests watched.
The Global Sumud Flotilla mission to deliver aid to Gaza was intercepted by Israeli forces on October 3, 2025. Detainees spent four days without clean water, resorting to drinking toilet water, while diabetics like Hickey were denied insulin.
Eight of the 15 Irish activists have now returned and promised to attempt the mission again.
