Tucson, United States - June 25, 2025 A driving video taken at the 309th Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group reveals rows of retired military aircraft resting in the vast desert storage grounds known as “The Boneyard.” The clip moves past weathered planes under the Arizona sun, each representing decades of U.S. aviation history. Among the aircraft visible are a C-130 Hercules transport plane, a P-3 Orion maritime patrol aircraft, and an F-16 Fighting Falcon fighter jet, all parked in long, silent lines across the sprawling facility. The 309th AMARG, located at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, serves as the final resting place for thousands of decommissioned aircraft, preserved in the arid conditions of Tucson’s desert.
