Fearless young mother catches huge python that attacked her kitten
This is the dramatic moment a fearless young mother caught a python that attacked her pet kitten in Thailand.
The woman was startled awake when she heard the cat crying in her home in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya in the early hours of September 6.
She checked the laundry area where her pet cats usually went to play, but was shocked to see a 10ft snake coiled around one of the felines.
Determined to save her beloved pet, the mother grabbed the ferocious reptile by the neck and wrestled it under control.
When the serpent loosened its grip on the kitten, she carried it around the house before sealing it inside a sack.
CCTV footage shows the brave resident proudly displaying her catch.
She said: 'Although it was my first time catching a snake, I knew how to do it from the tutorial videos I had watched on the internet.'
Animal rescuers arrived later in the morning to free the python into its natural habitat.
The reticulated python is found throughout Southeast Asia, where they live in forests, swamps, canals and even in cities, causing them to come into conflict with humans. The species is one of the world's largest snakes and can eat humans, cats, dogs, birds, rats and other snakes.
