West Sumatra, Wednesday, October 8, 2025. A woman who is also a farmer is very brave to cross a bridge made of a single sheet of iron. The bridge, located in Lubuk Asam Village, Batu Bala, Sutera District, Pesisir Selatan Regency, West Sumatra Province, Indonesia, is the only access for farmers to reach the expanse of gambier commodity plantations across the river. According to the farmer there, there are around 200 farmers who use the single sheet of iron bridge every day. This condition is indeed very risky, and even several farmers have fallen into the river, one person died and two others suffered serious bone fractures. The farmers hope that the local government can help build a bridge that is more suitable and safe to use.
