A student burst into tears when her father arrived at her graduation ceremony dressed as a clown.

Bralda Kapia's dad, Jojo, performs as a clown to support her studies and proudly attended her special day in the same costume he wore for work in Jayapura, Indonesia.

Footage shows the touching scene as Bralda covered her face in surprise while Jojo, with bright face paint, a colourful wig, and a playful outfit, gently comforted her.

The crowd watched as the pair shared an embrace before posing for photos to mark the occasion.

Bralda said: 'I did not expect he would show up dressed as a clown at my graduation ceremony.'

Jojo said he wanted to honour his daughter's success while showing pride in his job.

He said: 'It was my way of proving that hard work, no matter the kind, can bring great achievements.'
