US: Girl Sixth-Grader Arrested After Threatening To Bring Gun To DeLand Middle School
DeLand, United States - October 08, 2025 The Volusia Sheriff’s Office reported that Ta’Nerriah Ward was arrested overnight after posting on Snapchat that she would bring a gun to school. The message appeared in a group chat with other 6th-grade students at DeLand Middle School. Authorities received a tip through the Fortify Florida system at approximately 9:40 p.m. and immediately launched an investigation. Ta’Nerriah was taken into custody on two felony charges. She was processed at the Family Resource Center before being transported to the Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ).
