US, Los Angeles: Historic South Central Los Angeles Hydrant Sheared During Crash
Los Angeles, United States - October 08, 2025 10/07/2025 10:48 pm GMT-0700 HISTORIC SOUTH CENTRAL LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Firefighters and police responded to a reported crash involving a fire hydrant. Upon arrival, Los Angeles Fire Department personnel discovered that a Toyota had struck a light pole and a fire hydrant, causing water to shoot into the air. The light pole was damaged from the impact. The hydrant continued to spray water, and firefighters were unable to locate the valve to turn off the flow. The LAFD had requested the assistance of the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power to address the situation.
