A motorcycle pillion passenger sparked concern after being seen carrying another scooter between himself and the driver while travelling along a busy road.

Footage shows the unusual sight of the motorist balancing a blue Honda Wave between their bodies as the two-wheeler stopped at a red light in Bangkok, Thailand.

The passenger could be seen adjusting the vehicle's position to prevent it from slipping, drawing stares from nearby drivers.

He appeared to be struggling to support the load, as the 125cc Honda Wave weighs 106 kg.

Onlooker Api Bubpharam said: 'It happened at Sri Udom intersection. The Grab rider and his friend were carrying a Honda Wave 125i.'

Despite the awkward position, both men managed to maintain their balance throughout the stop.

Api said the pair successfully crossed the traffic when the light turned green, before continuing down the road and eventually parting ways.
