-PARIS, FRANCE — OCT. 9, 2025: Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani arrived at the Elysee Palace in Paris on Thursday, Oct. 9, to attend a ministerial meeting on Gaza after the announcement of the ceasefire agreement. The ceasefire agreement was announced early Thursday following four days of indirect negotiations between Hamas and Israel in the Egyptian city of Sharm el-Sheikh, with the participation of delegations from Türkiye, Egypt, and Qatar, and under US supervision. The first phase of a Gaza ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel will span five days and include a visit by US President Donald Trump to the region to oversee its implementation, a draft roadmap showed Thursday. According to the roadmap obtained by Anadolu and confirmed by an informed Egyptian source, the release of Israeli hostages and Palestinian prisoners and an initial Israeli withdrawal will be the focus of the first phase of the deal. Although the mediators — Egypt, Qatar, and the US — have not yet officially confirmed the document, Egyptian media outlets have reported on its content.
