Islamabad, Pakistan - October 11, 2025 Protests in Islamabad and Rawalpindi have entered the second day, disrupting normal life across the twin cities. Authorities placed containers on major roads including Faizabad Interchange, GT Road, Motorway, and Murree Road to block routes in view of the ongoing protest. As a result, citizens faced severe difficulties reaching offices and educational institutions. Metro Bus service remains suspended, and mobile internet services are also shut down in several areas. The Red Zone in Islamabad has been completely sealed, with only Margalla Road open for limited movement. In Lahore, clashes between protesters and police were reported, leading to injuries after the use of tear gas and baton charge. Meanwhile, in Islamabad, people themselves removed containers from Srinagar Highway and reopened the road for traffic, easing movement in the area. Containers had earlier been placed in Islamabad and Rawalpindi to block major routes due to the protest.
