It's really wonderful that people have traveled with this convoy to the Gaza Strip to try and show that, despite everything, we are making this viewpoint visible, which is what we other people have. And the worst part is that the entire world today, the entire Western world, is built on a lie. All lies. We are now being forced into a situation where no one has asked us anything. Our children's tax money is being sent to the warriors in Russia, and certainly in the future also to Israel. If Israel survives this resistance, which I'm beginning to doubt. I believe there are even people who have been supportive of Israel who have started to see that it is... I know a few such people who are terribly afraid, who see that it's not about the Jews, but rather the Zionists. That is the difference, even though these bourgeois people try to make us believe we are anti-Semites. Semitism is a language, and Arabic is one of the Semitic languages. So then everyone who is here would be against themselves. Many Palestinians, I mean. So, this is not a war. It's completely ridiculous to claim that these are two comparable sides. This is a genocide. A people without water, without food, without water, are supposed to endure these bombs and the bullets. It is something so terrible that you can't even describe how it feels. It's absolutely awful. Yes, they are starving. It's horrible to die from hunger and thirst. It's the worst thing people can be subjected to. It's so cruel that it's unbearable. This actually cannot even be described. But it is absolutely not a war. It's not even a war against Hamas, and besides, Hamas are Palestinians. They have the right to defend their own land by any means necessary." STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN - OCTOBER 11: Protesters gathered in the Swedish capital, Stockholm, on Saturday, Oct. 11, to condemn the Israeli military's recent attacks on the Global Sumud Fleet and the Freedom Flotilla Coalition. Mobilized by calls from numerous non-governmental organizations, the demonstrators assembled at Odenplan Square before marching toward the Swedish Parliament. The protesters carried banners with slogans such as "Full embargo on Israel for a Free Palestine" and "Attacks on the Freedom Flotilla, humanity's hope, are unacceptable." They also chanted "Freedom for Palestine" during the march. The demonstrators called on the Swedish government to initiate a legal struggle and seek justice for activists who they stated were tortured in Israel. Speaking to an Anadolu Agency correspondent, Swedish activist Anita Salven said she participated in the protest due to what she described as the ongoing brutal genocide in Gaza and the West Bank. Salven praised the flotillas attempting to bring aid to Gaza, noting that they have helped draw international attention to the situation in the enclave. She strongly contested the characterization of the conflict as a war between two equal sides, stating that such a claim was completely absurd. She asserted that the situation was not a war but a genocide, emphasizing that unarmed people without food or water were being subjected to bombs and bullets. Salven described the conditions as horrific and indescribable, stating it was terrible for civilians to die from hunger and thirst.
