Phoenix, United States - October 11, 2025 10/10/2025 07:30 pm GMT-0700 PHOENIX, Ariz.– At approximately 7:00 p.m., officers were involved in an officer-involved shooting. Sergeant Brian Bowers with the Phoenix Police Department Public Affairs Bureau confirmed that an officer-involved shooting occurred near 16th Street and Portland Avenue. The incident had lasted several hours before culminating in the shooting. The suspect who was shot by police was taken to the hospital and is being treated for critical injuries. There are currently no outstanding suspects. Sergeant Bowers said officers originally came out for a stolen vehicle. During that investigation, officers located the suspect responsible. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, and that’s when it took off from the officers. When the vehicle sped away from the police, the driver was seen shooting several times outside his car. It’s currently unknown what he was shooting at. No officers or community members were injured during this incident. The Arizona Department of Public Safety was at the scene and will take over the investigation.
