A man previously arrested on suspicion of murder has been released on bail after a fatal fire in Newquay. The body of a man in his 30s was found in a building on Narrowcliff after a blaze broke out on Tuesday afternoon, July 22.
The blaze broke out in the vicinity of the derelict Narrowcliff Hotel. The body of a deceased man was found inside a residential property between the Narrowcliff and Bristol Hotels.
Detective Superintendent Jon Bancroft, Force Senior Investigation Officer, said: “Officers are continuing to carry out several enquiries around this investigation.
“While a man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and subsequently released on bail, we are keeping an open mind about the circumstances surrounding the death, which we are currently treating as unexplained.
