The village transformed into a sea of gold as devotees celebrated with Bhandara, a sacred yellow powder resembling turmeric, believed to have medicinal properties. The air was filled with chants of “Viththal Biradev ki Jai”, and the streets shimmered with the vibrant hue of the powder.
This festival, deeply rooted in tradition, features Hemad dance and Bhakank (prophetic folk performances). During the event, predictions were made about political shifts and favorable weather conditions for the coming year.
Devotees from Maharashtra, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, and Goa gathered in large numbers to honor Viththal Biradev, the revered deity of the Dhangar (shepherd) community. The festivities included traditional rituals, music, and a sense of unity among participants.
