1. VARIOUS OF FIREFIGHTERS EXTINGUISHING BLAZES (NIGHT SHOTS) ODESA, UKRAINE — RELEASED ON OCT. 13, 2025 — RESTRICTION: USERS MUST CREDIT “STATE EMERGENCY SERVICE OF UKRAINE” HANDOUT, MUST NOT OBSCURE LOGO —EDITORIAL USE ONLY— Russia hit Ukraine’s Odesa region with a large-scale drone attack, injuring one person and triggering massive fires, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine said Monday, Oct. 13.
According to preliminary reports, the strikes set ablaze warehouses storing textile products, with the fire spreading across an area of more than 5,000 square meters. A vehicle was also destroyed.
Firefighting efforts were slowed by intense flames and the absence of a direct water supply at the site, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine said. Firefighters were later able to set up a steady water flow from nearby sources.
Russia started its "special military operation" on Feb. 24, 2022 and claimed that it is aimed at protecting people in the eastern region of Ukraine.
Since then, millions have been displaced, thousands have lost their homes, and hundreds of medical and educational institutions have been destroyed.
