Neighbours carry away 10ft crocodile found inside home in India
Brave neighbours carried away a 10ft crocodile that was found in a family's home in India.
The beast sparked panic when it walked into the property as residents were watching TV in Rajasthan on October 10.
The locals fled in fear and called local authorities for help. But when no officers arrived, they sought assistance from Hayat Khan, a known wildlife rescuer from Etawah.
Hayat and his team reached Banjari village at around 10 pm local time. They found the reptile hiding in a bedroom and quickly pinned it down by the neck.
Volunteers taped the beast's mouth shut with packing tape before tying its limbs and hauling it out of the residence. The rescue was completed in an hour.
Footage shows Hayat hauling the beast into a truck. It was later released into the Chambal River.
He said: 'This crocodile was around eight feet long and weighed about 80 kilograms. This is the third such rescue from Banjari village in the past year.'
Villagers said crocodiles had made a home in a pond near the edge of the village.
A resident said: 'People here are scared to even step near the water. We need proper fencing or relocation of these crocodiles.'
