Metro Phoenix was hit by a severe thunderstorm on Monday, October 13, causing heavy rain, downed trees, and debris. Tempe was particularly hard hit, with a microburst producing winds up to 70 mph and minor damage at Mountain America Stadium. Over 27,000 customers lost power across the East Valley, Phoenix, Paradise Valley, and Scottsdale. The main storm cell moved out by mid-afternoon, though isolated storms and a flood watch remained in effect until 8 p.m.
