Storyline: As the first phase of a ceasefire agreement took effect on Friday, residents of the northern Gaza Strip and Gaza City have begun to return home, using any means of transport available, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) reported on Sunday. But they are returning only to a scene of devastation. According to the UN agency, nearly 80 percent of homes in the northern part of the territory have been damaged or completely destroyed. In a statement released on Sunday, UNRWA highlighted the severe humanitarian crisis facing the returning population. Beyond the lack of adequate shelter and essential supplies, residents continue to confront the immediate threats of hunger and malnutrition. The agency said that it will continue to provide essential services across the Gaza Strip to support those most in need during this critical time. Shotlist: Gaza Strip - Recent: 1.
