US, Phoenix: Phoenix Ahwatukee Vehicles Caught in Flooded Roadway

Phoenix, United States - October 12, 2025 10/12/2025 03:11 am GMT-0700 PHOENIX, Ariz. – Phoenix police officers and Phoenix Fire Department crews responded to reports of vehicles caught in a flash flood on 48th Street, north of Warner Road, in the Ahwatukee Foothills Village community of Phoenix, at approximately 3:10 a.m. Phoenix Fire Department crews received additional reports of occupants trapped inside the vehicles. It was later confirmed that the occupants were able to exit their vehicles and retreat to higher ground, away from the flooded conditions, prior to the arrival of first responders. Crews arrived to find two stalled vehicles in the flood waters. Phoenix police officers established a hard closure for 48th Street near the flooded area to prevent additional vehicles from entering the water. No injuries were reported.
