King tide floods homes along Hollywood Beach in Florida
Homes and streets were inundated when a king tide caused coastal flooding at Hollywood Beach in Florida.
Footage shows floodwaters surging through the road as vehicles struggled to navigate the submerged area on October 8.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) explained that King Tides occur when the gravitational pull of the sun and moon align, causing sea levels to rise up to two feet above normal.
October and November typically bring the highest King Tides of the year.
