This is the amusing moment a stray dog was spotted chasing geese around a park.

Ms Ren noticed three waterfowl dashing across the area as the lively canine followed them on a university campus in Jiangsu, China.

Footage shows the white-feathered birds running with wings outstretched and flapping as they fled from the pooch.

In another clip, the dog can be seen pursuing the visibly frantic geese across a walkway.

Onlookers laughed at the encounter as they stood nearby.

Ms Ren said: 'The geese are rampant on school grounds and will bite anyone who passes by. Meanwhile, the stray dog has been living on campus for years and we love him. When he saw the geese attacking students, he bravely rushed to their defense.'
