Storyline: Yunnan walnuts crack international markets [Voice_over] Thanks to its favorable weather conditions, Yunnan Province in southwest China presents the perfect location for walnut cultivation. Yunnan walnuts are light in color, and high in fat and flavor, and typically, the lighter the nut, the higher the value. Farmers say over the summer the price for walnuts was up to five U.S. dollars per kilo due to shortages in other countries. For produce companies in Yunnan, it meant a boost in business. [Sound_bite] Zhao Wenjie, general director, produce company: "The total exports of nuts were over two million dollars till now. The price of one kilo is 70 cents more than last year." There were almost 5,000 tons of walnuts exported from the prefecture in the first two months of this year, a whopping 388 percent year-on-year increase.
