Traditional leg-rowing boat procession graces Myanmar's Inle Lake
This is the breathtaking moment a traditional leg-rowing boat procession graced across the Inle Lake in Myanmar.
Buddhist devotees paraded four sacred Buddha images placed on a magnificent golden royal barge shaped like the Karaweik Hall during the Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda Festival in Shan State.
Footage shows dozens of men standing on the sides of long wooden boats, each balancing on one leg while wrapping the other around an oar to row in perfect rhythm across the water on September 26.
Colourful flags flutter in the breeze, while leafy branches rise from the centre of some boats.
Trailing behind the procession is a smaller royal barge adorned with a mythical bird figure, followed by a larger one carrying the revered Buddha statues, completing the ceremonial convoy.
The Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda Festival is one of Myanmar's grandest Buddhist celebrations, held annually around September or October for 18 days.
During this time, the royal barge tours around 14 or more lakeside villages, stopping at local monasteries to allow devotees to pay their respects and make offerings.
Myanmar is a predominantly Buddhist country, with around 90 per cent of its population practising Theravada Buddhism, which shapes the nation's values, traditions, and social life.
