VARIOUS OF AID TRUCKS MOVING TOWARD RAFAH CROSSING/ TRUCKS WAITING AT CROSSING NORTH SINAI, EGYPT - OCT. 16, 2025: A limited number of aid trucks continued to enter the Gaza Strip through the Rafah crossing from Egypt on Thursday, Oct. 16. Trucks departing from Egypt waited at the Rafah crossing to undergo security inspections at the Kerem Shalom crossing on the Israeli side before proceeding. A ceasefire agreement was reached between Israel and Hamas last week, based on a plan presented by US President Donald Trump. Phase one included the release of Israeli hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners. The plan also envisages the rebuilding of Gaza and establishment of a new governing mechanism without Hamas. Since October 2023, Israeli attacks have killed nearly 68,000 Palestinians in the enclave, most of them women and children, and rendered it largely uninhabitable.
