Storyline: Clothing sales heat up as winter season arrives in China [Voice_over] China's clothing wholesale market is heating up as new collections for the upcoming winter season have hit store shelves. At the Nanyou Clothing Wholesale Market in southern China's Shenzhen, one of the country's major distribution centers for designer brands, items in colors like coffee and burgundy are everywhere. A vendor said the designs are inspired by jagged rock landscapes called Yardang and are trending this season. [Sound_bite] Chen Hui, brand manager, clothes store: "What you see here are this year's trending colors—a Yardan-inspired palette that captures the beauty of desert landscapes." [Sound_bite] Chen Hui, manager, clothes company: "This year's colors are generally more muted. In terms of popular items, vests are definitely a standout—they're incredibly versatile." [Voice_over] The wholesale market is bustling with, not just retailers, but also shoppers, some of whom traveled from far away. [Sound_bite] Shopper: "I came from Guangzhou. The clothing here is more upscale—the quality really stands out." [Sound_bite] Shopper: "I'm shopping for sweaters and light jackets for autumn and winter. I like the white color, so I'm looking for white coats, sweaters and trousers. The clothes here are more fashionable." [Voice_over] China is the world's biggest clothing producer and exporter. Customs data shows that in the first eight months of this year, China's garment and accessories exports reached more than 103 billion U.S.dollars, a less than one percent decrease from last year.
