Captain Calamity sails luxury yacht straight into path of ferry leaving Thai island
This is the moment a bungling yacht captain sailed straight into the path of a ferry leaving the dock in Phuket.
The ferry was departing for Koh Yao island when the pleasure craft began drifting towards it without slowing down.
Footage shows the yacht bumping into the larger vessel as onlookers screamed when it made impact.
The ferry captain said he sounded the horn to alert the foreign yacht captain. The 'Captain Calamity' was said to have rushed to regain control but failed to steer away in time.
Both vessels reportedly sustained only minor damage.
Maritime authorities said they were further investigating the details of the collision.
