US, Los Angeles: Santa Monica Barricaded Suspect in Custody
Los Angeles, United States - October 17, 2025 10/17/2025 12:00 am GMT-0700 SANTA MONICA, Calif. – A barricaded suspect was taken into custody just after midnight Friday. The incident began Thursday afternoon around 3 p.m. in the 1400 block of Michigan Avenue, according to an officer at the scene. The Santa Monica Police Department stated on X, "The Santa Monica Police Department is currently responding to an incident in the 1400 block of Michigan Avenue involving a suspect accused of assault. Traffic in the area is impacted, and the public is advised to avoid the area. This remains an active situation. Additional information will be provided as it becomes available."
