Trump and Putin to Meet in Hungary. President Donald Trump will meet Russian President Vladimir Putin in Hungary for Ukraine peace talks after a recent call. The call was productive, with both sides agreeing to prepare for a face-to-face summit. This will be their second meeting since Trump returned to office, after their Alaska summit in August. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio will lead talks with Russian officials next week. Trump and Putin discussed post-war trade and U.S.-Russia relations during the call. The call came just before President Volodymyr Zelenskyy White House visit seeking support for advanced U.S. weapons. Hungary was chosen as the meeting site with Prime Minister Viktor Orban backing the decision. Trump recently shifted to support Ukraine’s efforts to fully reclaim its territory.
