Storyline: Thousands of Yemenis rallied in Sanaa on Friday, joining weekly protests to show solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza. Demonstrators carried Palestinian and Yemeni flags, along with photos of the Houthi military chief, Mohammed Abdulkarim al-Gumari, who was killed in an Israeli airstrike targeting Houthi leadership in August. The Houthis confirmed his death on Thursday. They reported that al-Gumari, his 13-year-old son, and several senior officers were killed. The Houthis did not provide further details about the strike or others who died. It remains unclear how the Houthis will respond. The Houthis stopped launching attacks against Israel since the Gaza ceasefire started last week. Shotlist: Sanaa, Yemen - Oct 17, 2025: 1.
