Egypt: Aid From Türkiye’s 17th ‘Goodness Ship’ continues to be unloaded at Egypt’s Al Arish Port for Gaza
SHOTLIST: AL ARISH, EGYPT (OCT. 18, 2025) (ANADOLU - ACCESS ALL) 1. VARIOUS OF AID BEING LOADED ONTO TRUCK BY FORKLIFT AL ARISH, EGYPT - OCT. 18, 2025: Humanitarian aid from Türkiye’s 17th “Goodness Ship” continued to be unloaded Friday, Oct. 17, at Egypt’s Al Arish Port for delivery to Palestinians in Gaza. Since the beginning of Israel’s attacks, Türkiye has been among the leading countries delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza. From October 2023 onward, the country has sent approximately 102,000 tons of humanitarian supplies to Gaza by sea and air. The recently achieved ceasefire in the enclave has created an opportunity to deliver aid more sustainably and in greater quantities. Within this framework, Türkiye dispatched a ship carrying around 865 tons of humanitarian relief supplies from Mersin Port to Egypt’s El Arish Port on Tuesday. The shipment, organized under the coordination of Türkiye’s Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) and in cooperation with the Egyptian Red Crescent, included contributions of 17 nongovernmental organizations. Since the start of Israel’s attacks on Gaza on Oct. 7, 2023, Türkiye has delivered humanitarian assistance through 16 ships and 14 aircraft under AFAD’s coordination. A ceasefire was reached last week, as part of US President Donald Trump's plan to permanently end the war that killed more than 67,000 Palestinians and destroyed the enclave.
